RACHEL MOGHRABI She/her

Rachel? (2025) / (after they rape you) (2024) / Terra Cotta, Glaze, Epoxy, Candles / 20 x 43 x 10 cm

Rachel? (2025) and (after they rape you) (2024) are two pieces in an ongoing series of faux-wrought-iron fence-work made of ceramic terra cotta clay and glaze — exploring Jewish resistance, personal severance, and the emotional weight of political dissent. Through clay, it transforms inner turmoil into quiet rebellion and reflects the fragility of imposed borders.

Bio
Rachel Moghrabi is a Jewish-Lebanese interdisciplinary visual artist, born and based in the unceded Indigenous territory of Tiohtià:ke (Montreal). She is currently pursuing a BFA in Studio Arts with a minor in Film Studies. Rachel’s work emerges from a foundation of research-creation. Through the lens of queer and feminist thought, she explores her own identity and its relationship to the world.

While she continues to experiment with various mediums, she is currently most drawn to film photography, ceramics, and drawing—each offering a unique materiality through which to articulate and explore. Though these are her current focuses, film remains a persistent undercurrent influencing her broader artistic practice.
