NI LOURD, NI FRAGILE
Ces trois œuvres issues du projet Neither Heavy Nor Fragile s’articulent autour des relations entre image, matière et temporalité. Une sculpture en acier et verre propose l’expérience du temps instable de la mémoire à travers un jeu de miroir et de lumière. Le·la regardeur·euse, tentant de s’apercevoir au fond de la structure, n’y rencontre qu’un reflet diffus ouvrant sur une profondeur indéterminée.
Une seconde pièce photographique, encadrée de verre coloré, introduit une dimension mouvante et tridimensionnelle à la surface de l’image, dont la fragilité contraste avec la rudesse du métal et la présence minérale des pierres représentées.
Enfin, une troisième œuvre met en regard la surface irrégulière d’un verre iridescent et une impression 3D, transcription spatiale d’une image bidimensionnelle.
L’ensemble compose un dispositif où l’image cesse d’être représentation pour devenir surface de contact, oscillant entre apparition et disparition.
PRUNE PAYCHA
est photographe. Elle travaille l’image en dialogue avec la sculpture et l’installation. Formée en sciences physiques et en littérature, elle aborde l’image comme un espace physique où se rencontrent mémoire, observation du réel et imagination.
Sa pratique se développe en installations qui réactivent des objets familiers — photographiés, filmés ou transposés numériquement — et où textures, couleurs et détails d’espaces habités instaurent une familiarité sensible traversée d’ambiguïtés. Elle conçoit des dispositifs où cohabitent visible et latent, documentation et spéculation, invitant les spectateurs.trices à une expérience attentive et intime de l’image.
En plus de sa pratique artistique, elle écrit sur le cinéma et travaille comme commissaire d'exposition.
Son travail a été présenté à la Fonderie Darling, à la Maison de la culture de Beloeil et à la Cité-des-Hospitalières.

NEITHER HEAVY NOR FRAGILE
These three works, drawn from the project Neither Heavy Nor Fragile, revolve around the relationships between image, matter, and temporality. A sculpture composed of steel and glass proposes an experience of memory’s unstable temporality through a play of reflection and light. The viewer, attempting to perceive themselves within the depth of the structure, encounters only a diffuse reflection opening onto an indeterminate depth.
A second photographic work, framed in colored glass, introduces a shifting and three-dimensional dimension to the image surface, whose fragility contrasts with the roughness of the metal and the mineral presence of the stones depicted.
Finally, a third work brings into dialogue the irregular surface of an iridescent glass and a 3D print, a spatial transcription of a two-dimensional image.
Together, the works form a dispositif in which the image ceases to function as representation and instead becomes a surface of contact, oscillating between appearance and disappearance.
PRUNE PAYCHA
is a photographer. She works with images in dialogue with sculpture and installation. Trained in physical sciences and literature, she approaches the image as a physical space where memory, observation of the real, and imagination converge.
Her practice unfolds through installations that reactivate familiar objects, photographed, filmed, or digitally transposed, where textures, colors, and details of inhabited spaces create a sensitive familiarity shot through with ambiguities. She designs environments in which the visible and the latent, documentation and speculation coexist, inviting viewers into an attentive and intimate experience of the image.
In addition to her artistic practice, she writes about film and works as an exhibition curator.
Her work has been presented at Fonderie Darling, Maison de la culture de Beloeil, and the Cité-des-Hospitalières.
