IRIS BAYER they/them
Steel Lamp Nº2 / 2025 / Scrap stainless steel / 14 x 14 x 37.5 cm
There’s an intentional irony in using a dense, opaque, and cold material to construct a light that is soft and warm. By cutting and joining the scraps with spot and partial welds, the lamp comes together as an assemblage of fragments, allowing light to flow through the seams and gaps—highlighting both its structure and the irregularities of the metal.
