The project consists of building three modular sculptures, able to connect and reconfigure the site, allowing the work to respond directly to its surroundings.
The final form will be shaped by the space itself—by its materials and its ecology.
Bio
Gabriel Junqueira is a Brazilian visual artist living and working in Montreal (Tiohtià:ke). He explores the relationships between nature, the body, and technology through sculptures and installations made from organic and industrial materials.
By repurposing industrial matter and detaching it from its original functions, his work creates a poetic and unstable space between the artificial and the organic. His assemblages, composed of dead matter either from nature or abandoned in industrial areas, seek to create moments of contact from which new ways of imagining space, bodies, and landscapes can emerge.
