Just as those who once inhabited castles believed themselves eternal, it must be acknowledged that this aluminum version may very well outlast its creator.
The (Sand)castle, like a fungus, is designed to grow and adapt to any environment; in turn, the meaning of a “kingdom” evolves with it.
Bio
During the summers, Ahme can be found lying on their back in a lush, green and grassy field — contemplating the weight of preservation, play, and materiality.
By winter time, they return to the studio, where these thoughts settle into form. There, they balance truth against falsity, and sculptural conversations take shape through impermanence — listening closely to the echoes of lineage, space, and place.
